This photo was taken after Craig McFarland found out that the flight he missed, American Airlines flight 11, was hijacked by terrorist and flown into the WTC. The other image is an article by the Huffington Post about how airlines are penalizing customers for buying their tickets through online sellers like expedia and not directly from the airlines. Not only is this a huge fail, but on Sept 14 nonetheless.
A huffpo user (jameser612) pointed it out in the comments so I had to go digging. I thought maybe, just maybe, AP didn’t have the photo marked, but I found two copies of it so far and both have descriptions linking it to 9.11. In the end do I think it was an honest mistake, somebody grabbing a photo from a folder without checking it? Yeah. Do I think that if Fox or some other right leaning group gets a hold of this they’ll have a field day ripping hp a new one? Oh absolutely.
Holy shit. The dangers of just Googling “sad airport passenger.”
